Cosmetics

Want to make homemade cosmetics? Whether you are looking to make your own soap or create a face mask, this is the place to be! I have covered everything you need to know to get started making melt and pour and cold process soaps, including recipes for breastmilk melt and pour soap and an amazing AHA exfoliating melt and pour soap (that one’s not for use during pregnancy).

There are two facemasks, and I’ve also perfected a melt and pour shampoo bar recipe and created a vegan melt and pour conditioner recipe (this can double up as a lotion bar… use sparingly)!

Looking for something advanced? I’ve also developed techniques to solve common melt and pour issues, such as my Double Melt method to create colourful layers in your melt and pour loaf soaps, and my article on how to get a swirl effect in melt and pour soap.

I will be moving into more cold process this year (I struggled to get lye last year), which I am SO excited about and I also have an upcoming article testing the mythical original Roman soap recipe (this adventure combined experimental archaeology and soapmaking fun).
